Class Description

Founder of McLeod casting, Thea McLeod is one of Australia's most prominent casting directors and President of the Casting Guild of Australia with a wide breadth of work ranging from international films to Television. Thea has a passion for discovering and nurturing the next generation of A-list actors from Australia and beyond. Thea spent 11 years in the UK where she was both an actress and a casting director, gaining much experience on an international level for film, television and commercials, Thea is the resident casting director for the iconic Australian TV Show "Neighbours" for 12 years and recently cast "Lie with me" for Fremantle and Channel 5 UK. Thea's other TV credits include the highly acclaimed "Better Man" for the SBS network, the controversial telemovie "Shapelle" for Channel 9, and "Underbelly Files: the man that got away" for Screentime, which was part of a highly successful crime series Underbelly, "City Homicide" for the Seven Network and "What ever happened to that guy" for Foxtel. As well as many successful Australian Feature Films including "Pawno", "Spin out", "Emo the Musical", "Summer Coda", "Blinder", "What if it works", "The Menkoff Method", plus the Netflix original Feature film "Measure for Measure" starring Hugo Weaving which she also produced as well as cast. Currently, Thea is casting the Australian Feature Film "The Envelope" and the Australian / UK Fremantle & Channel 5 show "The Rip". Both Measure for Measure and Pawno, cast by Thea, were nominated for multiple Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Awards/AACTA Awards: Including Three Best Actor Awards, Best Actress Awards, Two Best Supporting Actor Awards, and Best Supporting Actress award, recognising the brilliant work by McLeod Casting. This Masterclass will be held at One76 Studios, Burleigh Heads. SCRIPTS WILL BE SENT A WEEK BEFORE THE MASTERCLASS AND WILL BE WORKSHOPPED WITH THEA ON THE DAY
