Class Description

Psychology Of Acting. This course explores the psychological aspects of acting, examining the mental and emotional processes involved in creating believable characters and performances. Students will learn how to apply psychological principles to their acting work, developing a deeper understanding of human behavior and emotions. - Understand the psychological principles underlying acting techniques - Develop skills in observing and analyzing human behavior - Learn how to create and sustain believable characters - Apply psychological principles to script analysis and character development - Cultivate emotional intelligence and self-awareness in the acting process. Outline. Week 1: Introduction to the Psychology of Acting - Overview of the course - Defining acting and its psychological components. - Introduction to key psychological concepts of method acting. Week 2-3: Observing and Analyzing Human Behavior - Principles of observation and analysis. - Understanding human behavior and body language. - Introduction to mindfulness and meditation techniques Week 4 Emotional Intelligence and Self-Awareness including….Theory of mind. - Defining emotional intelligence and its role in acting. - Developing self-awareness and emotional regulation skills. - Introduction to sense memory and emotion regulation. - Understanding the role of intuition and instinct in acting. Weeks 5 & 6 - in class filming utilising the techniques observed during the previous weeks. Scripts will be allocated prior to the class. Booking & Cancellation Policy

Booking Policy: Our acting coaches are working actors, therefore some classes may need to be rescheduled or substituted with other coaches. Students will receive notice of any changes ahead of time. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are accepted up to 48 hours before a course begins and will receive a credit of the fees paid (minus the $100 deposit) to be used towards future classes within 6 months. Makeup Classes: We do not offer makeup classes for missed classes Payment Plans: We have partnered with EziDebit to offer Direct Debit Payment Plans to our students. Payment plans are available on all our courses with weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments and incure a small transaction fee per instalment- $1.19 per transaction debited from a Bank Account or 2.19% per transaction debited from a VISA/MASTERCARD
