Class Description
In this course students will be fully immersed in improvisation techniques through the art of play. This four-week course will focus on experiential learning by exploring comedy, character, impulse, timing and the use of status. Students will participate in simple exercises that will allow them to rewire their brains and recalibrate their physiology in order to work beyond fear and self-doubt. Through following the key rules of Improvisation, participants will become Improv Machines, ready, available and free for any experience. Throughout this intensive training period, students will cultivate the confidence not only in their ability to improvise but to make bold, specific and interesting choices within their acting career. This class is tailored to students of all levels and abilities. Participants will be given direct feedback to improve and hone their skills each week. Students who wish to participate will perform their improv skills Live in front of an audience at our End of Year Showcase and the Helensvale Cultural Centre on Saturday December 14th.
